Implants

Dental Implant vs Dental Bridge

Implants and bridges can both replace missing teeth, but they use different support and involve different clinical considerations.

How they differ

An implant is supported in the jaw and carries a restoration. A conventional bridge is supported by neighbouring teeth, which are prepared to hold it.

What influences the choice

The condition of adjacent teeth, available bone, gum health, bite, medical history, treatment time and personal preferences all matter.

There is no universal winner

A healthy implant site may favour one approach, while the condition of neighbouring teeth or other factors may favour another. Assessment is essential.

Medical note: This is general education, not a diagnosis. Symptoms and suitability need individual assessment by a qualified dental professional.
